The number of people that are aware of the impact that acne has on a young person is increasing quickly with the power of the Information Highway (Internet). + Acne is most commonly a temporary phase as the hormones rage in the teenager. Let your child know that, "This to shall pass."
+ Teach them the dietary guidelines they should follow. Show support but purchasing special food items for them and preparing food is better for their skin condition.
+ Support your teenager and teach them the best way to deal with their acne, especially the cause and effect relationships that exist.
+ Educate yourself so you can assist your teenager when they need answers to their hard questions and if necessary, buy some literature that will help both you and your child understand acne better. You may want to sit with them at the computer and research acne with them.
+ Take time to be aware of your child's self esteem to make sure they don't spiral into a state of depression or anxiety. Self-confidence can be significantly negatively effected. Learn how to properly build their self-esteem. Be generous with praises but do not use them just to flatter. Tell your teen about how wonderful his or her talent is. This would be a lift to his/her morale.
